BOX ART COMPLETED...and More Art Updates...

This update is going to be a quick one!

More Art Updates...

We had to make another round of tough decisions and it led to some more of the game art getting redone. Most importantly, this game is going to look FANTASTIC. The more we updated things, the more some of the older art just didn't fit in with everything else. I'm hoping this was the last thing that is changing. The most recent update came to the Cities. Originally the Cities were mostly silhouettes, but we decided to give them some more detail which brought them to life in a way that wasn't there before. Here's a before and after of Houston:

BEHOLD THE BACK OF THE BOX

It took us a while to put this together, since we needed to finalize as many of the components as possible before we could show them on the back of the box. It all came together and we're really excited about how it turned out. There are still some tiny tweaks to make, but this is basically DONE!

OK...We need to get back to work, there's still quite a bit to do and we're running out of time!

Manufacturing Update + Conventions Schedule

Sorry its been a few weeks since the last update! We've had to do a lot of organization and planning to get ready for the next steps in this process. There's so much involved and since this is our first Kickstarter it's been a great learning experience. I think we are still just inside of our original delivery schedule but its going to be a close one! Good news...

Manufacturing has begun!

Since we were able to get our components and some print materials in the mass production process has started for some parts of the game already. We should be delivering the last print files to the manufacturer over the next couple weeks and get a preproduction copy of the final game a few weeks after that. 

We did get a beautiful new sample of the final first player token. It's BIG, HEAVY, and SHINY! Check it out!

BGB Convention Schedule

We just finished up Unpub 9 in Maryland and Southern Boardgame Fest in Louisiana and after that we wanted to try to get everything else laid out for the year. Here's the plan so far in case you are around and you want to demo Rap Godz or check out some of the new components.

• QuirkCon - Durham, NC -  May 31 to June 2
• Origins - Columbus, OH - June 12 to June 16
• BlerdCon - Washington DC - July 12 to July 14
• Southern Fried Gaming Expo - Atlanta, GA - July 12 to July 14
• WashingCon - Washington DC - September 6 to September 8
• Indiecade - Los Angeles, CA - October 10 to October 13
• PAX Unplugged - Philadelphia, PA - ???

Of course, there might be some late additions to this list and potentially changes to some of our plans, but we feel good about this list for 2019.

NEW BOARD ART!

Hey everyone! Now that pre-orders are done, we're able to focus a even more on getting everything ready for mass production and delivery. The main thing we wanted to share today is the final board art! There were quite a few functional additions that we hope will help make the game easier to play, but most of the changes were just to give everything a more thematic and polished look. Here's a screenshot of the whole board and a few close ups so you can see a few things up close. We can't wait to see this one in it's physical form!

...in the next update you can look forward to some information about our convention schedule. We're starting to map that out and it should be a lot of fun. Hope we can run into y'all out there in the real world!

I think we nailed it.

We're so excited about this. Y'all just don't understand. Of all the game components, the main card layout has seen the most revisions of anything. From prototype to now, there have probably been like 30+ different designs for this one thing. This past week in New Orleans we had a chance to really sit down together and revisit the card design, and we had a serious breakthrough!!! We managed to fit all the game system things in where we needed it, a clear "card requirement" visual aid, colorblind icons, larger numbers and text/icons for readability...and it still looks cool and fits our theme perfectly.

Here's the final design (with a few tiny things to fix):

The retail price for the game will be closer to $60 so if you want to get in on this at a steal you should really consider pre-ordering (of you haven't backed or pre-ordered already).

Pre-Orders Closing Soon

10 DAYS LEFT - Rap Godz will no longer be available for Pre-Order in the store after February 28, 2019 at the special Kickstarter pre-order pricing. If you're interested in getting a copy of the game for $40 then you need to act now! This is an important step for us so we can focus on the mass production process. We will still have some items available for sale, such as the Rap Godz t-shirt, but those will probably only be available for a limited time as well. If there is anyone who you think would love to have Rap Godz in their collection make sure you share the news with them. New Box Art

We decided to re-envision the box art to be a little more colorful and eye catching. The actually box size of the game has changed from the prototype/demo version so we took that opportunity to try something a little different for the box. So far the design concept below is our favorite. It still needs some work but it feels most like what we would like to see on store shelves.
