So far so go over here in Rap Godz world. We have been organizing and ramping up our efforts to get everything ready to go to manufacturing. The next 30 days is really going to be crucial for us to deliver on time. Here are a few things we can show you now!
We got these in the mail early last week and wanted to let you check them out. Included in the (from bottom left to top right) photo we have :
We did our best to colorblind test the 4 player colors as best we could while also setting ourselves apart from the standard colors usually used for player colors.
Those of you who have been following Rap Godz from the start, know how many pieces of art there are in the game from seeing our prototypes. We have over 250 unique cards. We are going through the process of updating all those that weren't quite up to the quality level that we wanted and re-doing some completely where we thought they didn't quite tell the story we needed to tell. Here are some of the new and/or updated pieces of art:
That's all for now but of course more great things are coming! For the next update, we should have a few other fun things to share, including the final box art, refreshed card layouts, and maybe (*fingers crossed*) the 3D sculpt for the new first player token will arrive!
Board Game Brothas are together in New Orleans this holiday season and it has been a big step forward for us and Rap Godz and our upcoming projects. We want to say again that we appreciate all the love and support we got from friends, family, and new fans in 2018! We're really looking forward to getting Rap Godz onto your tables in 2019!
If you didn't already know, we finished up the voting for the new rappers that will be added to the Kickstarter Edition of Rap Godz. The winners...
We've also completed the artwork for DJ Mo Mentum and Hoodoo Cthudhu, so you can check those out too...
In one of our previous updates noted that the contract was signed and were moving forward with the manufacturing process. One of the first steps is to get a sample set of the game components created. Those are being made now and hopefully in a few weeks we will get those and be able to make sure that they meet our expectations and that the quality is excellent. We also are redoing many of our art assets to really raise the quality of the final game and we still think we are in good shape to reach our delivery target of August 2019.
We're really excited to announce, we were able to get a little bit of an upgrade to the Rap Godz first player token. It will now be cast in metal! This was something that we talked about throughout this process and decided it would be worth it to include in the Kickstarter Edition. Mostly because we are so thankful for this process and being able to bring this game to you, we felt like it deserved a little something special.

Vote Now! #MakeARapGod Contest!
Last week was the deadline to submit character names into the #MakeARapGod Contest. We pulled the entries together into a poll for you to vote on which you think should make it into Rap Godz as a part of our Kickstarter Stretch Goal. The top 3 will become cards in the game that you will be able to play as and those who's character names get selected will win a Rap Godz T-Shirt and will have their names listed in the credits of the game! All you have to do is click here and vote for your favorites :)
Anyone can vote so jump on social media and share the latest posts from BGB. We want as many people as we can to be involved in making this game come to life!
We're just a few days away from one of our favorite tabletop game conventions! If you didn't know, PAX Unplugged 2017 is one of the first conventions where we were able to show a prototype of Rap Godz (shout out to some of the super dope game designers who saw it back then and still are supporting us now...y'all are heroes...looking at you James D’Amato, Rob Newton, and Chris Metivier).
Needless to say we will be back in the UnPub Playtesting Hall, letting everyone know that Rap Godz is still available for Pre-Order, but also giving folks a sneak peak at the new and improved version of Graffiti Knights. We were able to get some amazing feedback at Metatopia that should make a big difference.

After some issues getting a final quote that we could work with that included the quality and components we wanted, we got it figured out and signed a contract with the manufacturer!
Such a big step for us as first time publishers and we're happy to have moved past it. Now the hard work of getting everything ready so we can get some beautiful games made :)
Many of you may already know by now if you've received an email, but we've officially started the Stretch Goal Contest to create 3 new Rapper Cards that will be added to Kickstarter.

If you didn't know, I was honored to be one of the IGDN Sponsership Winners and was able to attend Metatopia 2018 for free earlier this month. It was such a good experience. Our cohort of game designers was the finest group of people that I have shared a space with in such a long time. We bonded and shared and cared for one another the entire weekend and it was amazing!
We were able to do another round of blind playtest for Rap Godz to try to work out the kinks in the instruction booklet, but ALSO we were able to get a bunch of playtest in on our new game Graffiti Knights, which basically made it's public debut at this event. It still needs some work, but it's coming along a little faster than we expected. I give a lot of credit to the designers and playtesters at Metatopia, who are very skilled and knowledgeable when it comes to great game design.
